Since your local currency is stored within your Coinbase Fiat Wallet account, all standard purchases, as well as those made with a debit card, occur instantly. Deposits to your EUR Wallet using SEPA transfers can take up to 2-3 business days to complete.

US customers residing in a state where Coinbase offers service can fund their Coinbase accounts with USD via bank-wire or ACH transfers. Prior to transferring funds from your bank, you must verify your US bank account through the process below. For additional questions regarding adding payment methods, please visit Help Article.

Deposits are available on the Pro mobile app by going to the Portfolios page and tapping the Deposit button in the top right-hand corner.

• Find the BTC line and click on “deposit” on the right side. You will be brought to a page with your transaction history and a wallet address. Underneath the wallet address, click on “copy address”. Go back to your Coinbase account and to the transfer menu you opened earlier.

Verify a US bank account

1. Open the trading view at pro.coinbase.com/trade
2. On the left-hand column under Wallet Balance, select the Deposit option
3. In the Currency Type field, select USD
4. Select the Bank Account tab, then select From, then select Add Account
5. You will be redirected to Coinbase.com to complete the bank account verification process

Depositing from a U.S. Bank Account (ACH)

1. Open the trading view at pro.coinbase.com/trade
2. On the left-hand column under Wallet Balance, select Deposit
3. In the Currency Type field, select USD
4. Select the Bank Account tab. If you have verified your bank account, it should be listed here under From
5. From the drop-down menu, select the verified bank account you would like to deposit from
6. Specify the USD amount for the transfer then select the Deposit USD option to confirm
   

Depositing from a U.S. Bank Account (Bank Wire)

Bank wires are available to Coinbase Pro customers who have access to USD-denominated order books.

1. Open the trading view at pro.coinbase.com/trade
2. On the left-hand column under Wallet Balance, select Deposit
3. In the Currency Type field, select USD
4. Select the Wire Transfer tab. Follow the on-screen instructions—you will need to initiate a wire transfer from your bank account to your Coinbase Pro account
5. You’ll be presented with instructions that provide either a personal account number or a unique reference code (you don’t need both) for initiating a wire transfer from your bank account
6. Please note that the name on your bank account must match the legal name on your Coinbase Pro account for the wire to be accepted

Please be careful not to send an overnight or next-day *ACH*. An actual bank wire (not overnight or next-day ACH) must be submitted when sending to our wire details.

Withdrawing to a U.S. Bank Account (ACH and Bank Wires)

1. Open the trading view at pro.coinbase.com/trade
2. On the left-hand column under Wallet Balance, select Withdraw
3. In the Currency Type field, select USD
4. Select the ACH Bank Transfer or Wire Transfer tab. If you have verified your bank account, it should be listed here under To
5. From the drop-down menu, select the verified bank account you would like to withdraw to
6. Specify the USD amount for the transfer. You are able to withdraw all of your USD by selecting the MAX option
7. Select the Withdraw USD option to confirm your withdrawal

How long will it take to deposit/withdraw from my bank account?

ACH
Purchases made using a debit card or the USD wallet are made available instantly.

When using bank transfers, the ACH bank transfer system is used for payments with your bank account. The ACH bank transfer system typically takes 3-5 business days* (which may be as many as 7-10 calendar days, depending on the timing of weekends and other bank holidays) to complete after initiating a purchase. The timing will be displayed prior to confirming your order.

You may see the funds immediately debited from your bank account when you initiate the transfer, but the funds will not be transferred to your wallet until your payment has finished moving between the banks and clears in our bank account.

After the banks have processed the transfer, the funds enter our system and you will see the money in your account sometime before the end of the estimated delivery day. This date is shown on the confirmation window when placing your order and can be located in the order confirmation email you received from us. End of the day is considered 11:59 PM PST.

Wires
Bank wire transfers may be credited to your Coinbase Pro account on the same day if submitted by 1:00 PM PT. Otherwise, funds will typically be available after one business day.

*Note: You must contact [email protected] to activate these types of payment methods on your account.

Coinbase currently does not support credit or debit cards, Paypal, Omnibus Wires, or GBP SWIFT as payment methods for Prime accounts.

To verify your bank account, we recommend you make an initial deposit of at least $50 to your Prime USD wallet. Once the funds reach your account, then your bank account will automatically be verified.

To initiate a deposit via Fedwire:

1. Ensure you are signed out of all other Coinbase accounts

2. On Coinbase Prime, select Portfolio

3. On the right-hand side, select Deposit > USD > Wire Transfer

4. Follow the instructions shown

Note: It is important to include the Reference Code to ensure the funds are routed directly to your Prime account. Additionally, the name on your bank account must match the name on your Coinbase account.

Please note that your funds will typically appear in your account up to 1 business day after you’ve sent them and there are no deposit maximums. However, there is a $10 deposit fee.

Withdrawing via Fedwire

Before you can initiate a withdrawal, you will first need to complete a successful deposit to your Prime account. The instructions to do so are above. Please note that you will not need to enter any bank credentials on Coinbase to complete verification.

To withdraw via Fedwire:

1. Select Portfolio

2. On the right-hand side, select Withdraw > USD > Wire Transfer

5. Confirm the amount and select Withdraw USD

Note: There is a $25 withdrawal fee.

International Wires

Note: Please contact [email protected] to activate this payment method on your account. This is only available to Non-US/ Non-EU Clients who require to fund their Coinbase account with USD from their non-US SWIFT enabled bank. This is activated upon request after we’ve confirmed we have a valid W8 form.

We strongly advise that you make an initial verification deposit for the small amount of $50 to your Prime USD wallet, and then a small withdrawal to ensure the transactions are working properly.

Depositing via SWIFT

Once we receive your first SWIFT USD deposit, we will automatically create the payment method—you will not need to enter any bank account information on the platform.

To deposit using SWIFT:

1. Sign in to Coinbase Prime

2. Select Deposit > USD > International Wire Transfer

3. Follow the instructions shown to initiate a deposit

Note: The Reference Code must match exactly in order to correctly credit your account.

Before you can make a SWIFT USD withdrawal, you will need to complete a successful deposit to your Prime account.

To withdraw using SWIFT:

1. Sign in to Coinbase Prime

2. Select Withdraw > USD > International Wire Transfer

3. Select “(SWIFT)” Bank Account as the payment method from the dropdown

4. Enter your desired amount

5. Select Withdraw USD, and then confirm the transaction with your 2FA method

Deposit & Withdrawal Limits

Cryptocurrency deposits are unlimited, however fiat deposits are limited by payment method.

Coinbase Gbp Deposit Time

For example, fiat deposits via Fedwire are unlimited but fiat deposits via ACH transfers are limited based on your weekly bank transfer limit. You can see your weekly bank transfer limit by going to your Limits page.

Coinbase Usd Deposit Time

Withdrawals of both cryptocurrency and fiat currency are limited. Coinbase Prime account holders have a default withdrawal limit of $500,000 per day. This amount applies across all currencies, therefore you can withdraw up to $500,000 worth of ETH per day.
